Swimwear Brands I Actually Wore on Our Babymoon

Our latest familymoon also happened to be our last trip before the 90-day countdown to baby’s arrival. We packed up my entire family, my mother-in-law, enough backup outfits to clothe a village, and escaped for one last week in the sun before life becomes beautifully… different.

Naturally, packing became an editorial.

Somewhere between non-maternity maternity dresses, SPF 50+ sunscreen, and convincing myself I definitely needed one more bikini, I realized I had no idea where pregnant women actually shopped for beautiful swimwear.

… Not practical swimwear.

… Not “good enough for pregnancy” swimwear.

Beautiful swimwear.

So I did what I always do. I opened approximately a hundred tabs and scoured every swimwear brand I could think of, looking for pieces that still met the aesthetic while accommodating a belly that my great aunt in the South of France iconically referred to as ‘un bidon sublime.’

To my surprise, most maternity collections leaned a little too heavily into looking... well, maternity. Meanwhile, many of my favourite swimwear brands seemed to have forgotten that pregnant women don’t just need bigger sizes.

So, after a week of wearing some tried-and-tested pieces on our family getaway, I knew this deserved an editorial of its own. Because just because I’m becoming a mom—or rather, a woman in my ‘Papaya’ season—doesn’t mean my taste has suddenly disappeared.

Alas, these became my favourite discoveries.

Now… Before we get into today’s picks, a confession.

I packed for our family babymoon with far less energy than ambition.

Between growing a human, trying to plan our baby shower, and having approximately three good minutes of creative productivity each day, I simply didn’t have it in me to scour the internet the way I normally would. I even spent an afternoon reading other women’s Substacks hoping someone had already done the work for me. And nobody quite lived up to the hype. So, with every last ounce of energy I had, this became my little pregnancy swimwear edit.

Finding maternity-friendly swimwear shouldn’t feel like choosing between looking like yourself or accommodating the fact that you’re literally growing bones and a set of balls. Yet so much of what I found leaned heavily into one of two categories: fashion brands that weren’t built with changing bodies in mind, or maternity collections that seemed to assume pregnancy meant abandoning fashion altogether.

I still wanted beautiful silhouettes. Good fabric. Pieces I’d happily wear before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and hopefully again after. I wanted to find some brands that acknowledged my changing body without making it my entire identity.

Wildly enough, the brands that impressed me most weren’t maternity brands at all. They were swimwear companies that just understood women.

Here are the ones that made the shortlist.

MONDAY SWIMWEAR

I have been waiting years for this.

Long before I was pregnant, I’d already built entire editorials around Monday Swimwear. Their Mama & Me campaigns lived rent-free in my head as I quietly waited for the season when they would finally land in my closet.

Well.

The season has finally arrived.

There is something incredibly satisfying about buying from a brand you’ve admired for years, not just because pregnancy forced you into it, but because life finally caught up to the vision board you made a decade ago.

After a week of testing Monday through pool mornings, beach afternoons, and scorching tans, I can confidently say they exceeded my expectations.

Pregnancy introduces you to an entirely new relationship with your bust. Mine has become unpredictable in so many ways, so finding bikini tops that felt supportive without being restrictive was surprisingly difficult.

The Palma, Morocco, Hanalei, and Kauai tops quickly rose to the occasion. The halter silhouettes embraced these new ladies by offering support without relying on underwire.

To be fair, I gave the underwire styles a chance. They looked incredible and certainly held up their end of the ‘bargain’, but by the end of the day I was ready to take them off. Comfort won over structure somewhere around hour three.

And strapless? Respectfully... not.

This is my halter summer.

When it came to prints, every Geo pattern caught my eye, while every variation of the Sardinia and Ivory colourways found their way into my cart. If there was a style capable of convincing me I needed another swimsuit, it was probably one of those three.

What surprised me most, however, was the bottoms.

I assumed pregnancy meant I’d naturally gravitate toward high-waisted or adjustable tie-side styles. Instead, I was clicking on the Barbados, Bronte, Bari, Petit Ermitage, and Marseille bottoms almost every time. They create a beautiful undercut beneath the belly, giving the bump its own shape instead of covering it up.

So, ladies—I guess it’s safe to say that every day is a Monday during my SS26 pregnancy!

CUPSHE

If there’s one brand that is carrying me through hot mom summer, it’s CupShe.

Almost every swimsuit I packed for our babymoon came from here. They stretched with the bump and the all-inclusive buffets, and never once made me wish I’d packed something else.

For the price, I honestly don’t think they can be beaten.

They’re the kind of purchase you make expecting one good swimsuit and somehow end up adding three more to your cart because the value is just... such good value.

And what surprised me most wasn’t just the price. It was the design.

I gravitated almost exclusively toward the Cupshe x Lexi Rivera and Cupshe x JOJO collections. There’s just something about the fabrics and silhouettes that feel a little more elevated than your average swimwear brand, with details that make them look far more expensive than they really are. Whether it was a plunging halter neckline, an open T-back, or the beautiful hardware throughout the collections, every piece felt designer without the matching price.

These weren’t swimsuits I bought because I was pregnant. They were swimsuits I happened to wear while pregnant. And I have every intention of reaching for them long after this bump has left the chat.

That’s become my test before buying anything these days. Will I still love it and fit in it after the baby is born? CupShe passed with flying… no, fashionable colors! I’d buy from them again without thinking twice.

BAE THE LABEL

Alright, ladies. If your style leans clean, understated, and simple, Bae The Label deserves a spot on your radar.

Unlike brands that simply size up existing silhouettes, these pieces are actually designed for pregnant bodies.

Though I’m not personally drawn to maternity swimwear, these feel less like ‘pregnancy purchases’ and more like capsule pieces that will carry you through motherhood.

Their collection feels luxurious while still maintaining the ‘minimalist’ capsule aesthetic that so many maternity collections forget. Clean lines, neutrals, and silhouettes that support the bump without overdoing it.

I haven’t personally worn these on our familymoon, but I can confidently stand behind Bae The Label and the quality they consistently bring to all their pieces.

If you’re looking for neutral palettes and statement maternity pieces, I’d absolutely give their swim collection a peek. It may be limited, but sometimes a capsule collection says more than a hundred styles.

LONDRE BODY

One of my favorite discoveries, period.

Londre has built an incredible swimwear collection that proves size inclusivity and elevated design can absolutely co-exist. They definitely err on the side of ‘investment’ pieces, but given their a bodywear brand, this feels more intentional than just throwing a couple hundred bucks at a swimsuit. The silhouettes feel sculptural and timeless without falling into trendy territory. Whether you prefer more coverage or something a little more daring, there’s enough variety to match your aesthetic that you’ll never feel like you’re settling on swimwear you don’t love.

I didn’t find Londre in time to take it on our familymoon, but considering we share our condo with a five-star hotel pool, I have absolutely built a cart full of Fuchsia, Butter Yellow, and Soft Olive Ripple pieces.

I appreciate that they’re size-inclusive without sacrificing great design. There are one-pieces, bikinis, and coverage options for just about everyone, all while maintaining that elevated MILF-maxx aesthetic.

So, yes, ladies. I fully intend on teaching our baby to swim in Londre.

BERLOOK

I’m holding Berlook in the same pedigree as Monday Swimwear.

And if you enjoy having options, this is where you’ll probably lose an hour and half your credit score.

Berlook offers an enormous selection of styles, cuts, colours, and coverage levels, making it one of the easiest brands I’ve found to browse regardless of where your body happens to be this season.

Pregnant…

Postpartum…

Neither?

It doesn’t even matter.

The sizing is accommodating, the designs don’t feel repetitive, and the prices remain groundshakingly reasonable. It’s one of those brands that delivers luxury without luxury-level pricing. Because sometimes the best purchase isn’t the most expensive one. It’s the one you’ll actually wear.

What surprised me most, though, wasn’t another beautiful swimsuit. It was how much I suddenly cared about their sustainability. You don’t really think about these things until you’re carrying life. Then, all of a sudden, you’re reading ingredient labels on your cleaning supplies, questioning what goes on your skin, and yes—paying more attention to the fabrics you’ll be wearing.

Six months ago, I probably would’ve skimmed right past Berlook‘s commitment to eco-friendly materials. I would’ve been far more interested in the silhouettes than the sustainability. But somehow, pregnancy changed that.

Now I want both.

And while we’re here...

Can we talk about their activewear?

Because if I’m showing up in boutique swimwear, you best believe I’ll be adding their fitness collection to my cart too. It’s giving Alo without the repetitive branding.

So, as it turns out, ladies, we aren’t looking for maternity swimwear, or a quick buy before our babymoon.

Maybe we’re looking for brands that haven’t forgotten pregnant women still have good taste.

And if there’s one thing I learned after a hundred browser tabs and an alarming number of bikini deliveries, it’s that the best maternity swimwear isn’t maternity swimwear after all. It’s swimwear designed by brands that understand women. Funny how that works, huh?

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a baby to grow... and at least three more bikinis sitting in my cart.
